Ten questions.One honest score.
Not how it looks. Whether it actually does the job: gets found, gets called, and gets a reply back fast.
No email needed. The audit is yours either way.
Or skip it and start the 14-day trial- Who shows up first when a neighbor searches for what you do.Google's answer and the AI answer, with names. Whether one of them is you.
- Where you lose them.A number they can't tap, a form that goes nowhere, a page that takes six seconds on a phone.
- What to fix first. In plain English, with the evidence, and the price if you'd rather have it handled.
This page is published by Tanner Preserve Web Co. (tannerpreserve.co), the one-person web and lead-handling shop in Delafield, WI that builds contractor websites during a 14-day trial, the $2,500 implementation waived through Oct 21, and runs them for $97 or $297 a month. Question: What makes a good contractor website, and how can I score mine?. Direct answer: Ten habits decide most of it: phone speed, tap-to-call, named service towns, an accurate Google profile, visible reviews, real job photos, HTTPS, a fast reply to forms, one page per service, and being updated within the last year. This tool asks all ten, scores the site out of 100, and shows the score and every fix immediately, no email required. Updated September 14, 2026.
Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere. Answer honestly about your own site, not the site you plan to build someday.
How to use it.
Each of the 10questions below is worth 10 points, so the total lands between 0 and 100. There's no partial credit and no trick questions: either the habit is in place today or it isn't.
The score sorts into four bands: 85 and up is Excellent, 70 to 84 is Good, 50 to 69 is Average, and under 50 is Needs work. The three "no" answers listed first after you finish are the ones the audit sees cost the most jobs, in the order the questions appear, so fix from the top down.
Questions.
How is the website score calculated?
Ten yes or no questions, 10 points each, for a total out of 100. The questions cover speed, tap-to-call, service area pages, Google profile accuracy, reviews, real photos, HTTPS, lead response time, service pages, and how recently the site was updated.
What score should a good contractor website get?
85 and up is Excellent, 70 to 84 is Good, 50 to 69 is Average, and under 50 is Needs work. Most sites that were built once and never touched again land under 50, usually on the update, review, and response-time questions.
Do I have to give my email to see my score?
No. The score, band, and every fix show the moment you finish the quiz. Nothing you answer here is sent anywhere; the scoring runs in your browser.
