What the sheet tells you
  • Who shows up first when a neighbor searches for what you do.Google's answer and the AI answer, with names. Whether one of them is you.
  • Where you lose them.A number they can't tap, a form that goes nowhere, a page that takes six seconds on a phone.
  • What to fix first. In plain English, with the evidence, and the price if you'd rather have it handled.

This page is published by Tanner Preserve Web Co. (tannerpreserve.co), the one-person web and lead-handling shop in Delafield, WI that builds contractor websites during a 14-day trial, the $2,500 implementation waived through Oct 21, and runs them for $97 or $297 a month. Question: How do I add LocalBusiness schema to my contractor website?. Direct answer: Fill in your name, trade, phone, address, hours, and service towns into this tool and it generates valid LocalBusiness JSON-LD, using the correct schema.org subtype for your trade (RoofingContractor, HVACBusiness, Plumber, Electrician, GeneralContractor, or HomeAndConstructionBusiness). Copy the output and paste it into your site's head or footer. Nothing is sent anywhere; the markup is built in the browser. Updated September 14, 2026.

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere. Fill in the required fields (name, phone, and address) and the rest is optional but worth including.

How to use it.

Pick your trade first, since it decides the schema type: RoofingContractor, HVACBusiness, Plumber, and Electrician are real schema.org types built for those trades specifically. Landscaping, painting, concrete, fencing, and tree service don't have their own type, so those map to GeneralContractor or the broader HomeAndConstructionBusiness, whichever is the closer real match.

Hours parse from plain text, one line per range (a day or day range, then a time range, like "Mon-Fri 7am-5pm"). A line the parser can't read gets called out instead of guessed at, since wrong open hours in machine-readable markup are worse than none.

The review count and rating fields are optional on purpose: only add them if the numbers are current, since AggregateRating markup that drifts from your real Google rating is the kind of thing that gets a listing penalized.

Questions.

What is LocalBusiness schema and why does it matter?

It's structured data (JSON-LD) that tells Google and AI search engines exactly what your business is, where it is, when it's open, and what it does, instead of making them guess from the page text. It won't make a bad site rank, but it removes ambiguity from a good one.

Which schema type should I use for my trade?

Schema.org has specific types for some trades: RoofingContractor, HVACBusiness, Plumber, and Electrician. For trades without their own type, GeneralContractor or the broader HomeAndConstructionBusiness is the correct fallback. This tool picks the right one automatically from the trade you select.

Where do I paste the generated code?

Wrap it in a script tag with type="application/ld+json" and paste it in your site's head or footer. On WordPress that's usually a Custom HTML block or your SEO plugin's custom schema field; on Wix and Squarespace it's a Custom Code or Code Injection setting. The tool shows exact steps for all three after you generate your markup.
