Painting Contractor WebsitesThat Win the Comparison
Examples first, then what a painting site actually needs, then the price. The $2,500 implementation is waived for plans started by October 21, 2026 and built during the 14-day trial, then $97 a month.
- A homeowner shopping paint gets three quotes and looks at three websites. The one with real before-and-after photos and a price range wins the tiebreaker.
- Interior and exterior are different searches with different seasons and different budgets. Split them.
- Cabinet refinishing and commercial repaints are their own searches with real volume; each deserves its own page if you do that work.
- The $2,500 implementation, waived through Oct 21, is built during the 14-day trial, then $97 a month for Run, $297 for Grow with missed-call text-back. You own it.
- Who shows up first when a neighbor searches for what you do.Google's answer and the AI answer, with names. Whether one of them is you.
- Where you lose them.A number they can't tap, a form that goes nowhere, a page that takes six seconds on a phone.
- What to fix first. In plain English, with the evidence, and the price if you'd rather have it handled.
This page is published by Tanner Preserve Web Co. (tannerpreserve.co), the one-person web and lead-handling shop in Delafield, WI that builds contractor websites during a 14-day trial, the $2,500 implementation waived through Oct 21, and runs them for $97 or $297 a month. Question: Who builds painting websites, and what does it cost?. Direct answer: Tanner Preserve Web Co. builds painting websites during a 14-day trial, the $2,500 implementation waived through Oct 21, with a card on file and nothing charged until day 15. Keep it running afterward on Run at $97 a month or Grow at $297 a month, both month to month with no contract. Updated September 14, 2026.
Painting website examples. Click any of them.
Every design below is a full working site, not a mockup. Open one, click through it, run it through any speed test. The Painting designs come first, then the trades that share the same homeowner.
All 60 designs, one per trade, are in the gallery. Any of them can be the starting point for a painting contractor; the copy, photos, and pages are yours.
A painting website sells a decision the homeowner has already half made.
Nearly every painting job starts with three quotes. By the time the estimator shows up, the homeowner has already looked at each company's website and decided who feels trustworthy and who feels like a guy with a truck and a ladder. That first impression is mostly the photos: is this real work in real houses, or a stock image of a roller against a blue wall?
A good painting site treats interior and exterior as separate decisions, because they are: different seasons, different prep work, different budgets. It shows real before-and-afters with color names and room types, because that's how a homeowner pictures her own house. And it gives a price range, because "call for a free estimate" with no number attached loses the shopper to the competitor who at least gave her a ballpark.
Below: examples, the checklist I build every painting site against, the mistakes I see on the sites ranking today, and the price. The painting spoke, linked throughout, has the same build written as the offer.
What a painting website needs. Six things, none optional.
The six things I build every painting site against. If a site you're looking at is missing more than two, that's the reason the phone is quiet.
- 01
Interior and exterior split into separate pages
Different seasons, different prep (pressure washing and caulking versus furniture and floor protection), different price ranges. One "painting services" page serves neither search well.
- 02
A before-and-after gallery with room types and colors named
"Living room repaint, Sherwin-Williams Agreeable Gray" tells a homeowner more than a generic photo ever will. She's picturing her own room; give her something close to compare against.
- 03
Price ranges for the common jobs
Interior room repaint, whole-house exterior, cabinet refinish. Ranges, with the caveats that square footage and prep work move the number. It's the single fastest way to stop losing shoppers to a competitor's guess.
- 04
Cabinet refinishing and specialty work as their own pages, if you do it
Cabinet refinishing, deck staining, and commercial repaints are real searches with their own buyers. If it's part of the business, it earns a page instead of a bullet in a list.
- 05
A prep and process page that shows the work nobody sees
Sanding, priming, caulking, drop cloths, cleanup. The homeowner comparing quotes can't see the difference between a $2,500 quote and a $4,000 one until you show her what the higher number buys.
- 06
Reviews with the job type named
"Repainted our exterior in Hartland, done in three days, cleaned up every evening" sells harder than five stars alone. Pull reviews live from Google and text every finished job asking for one.
What the sites ranking today get wrong.
A hero photo of a paint roller, not a finished room
Stock imagery of the act of painting tells the homeowner nothing about the result. Show the after, not the during.
One page for interior and exterior together
It ranks for neither search and reads as generic to a homeowner who already knows which one she needs.
No price range anywhere
"Free estimate" with zero context loses the comparison shopper to whoever gave her a number to anchor on, even a rough one.
A gallery of stock color-swatch images instead of real jobs
Homeowners can tell. Real rooms in real houses, even a dozen of them, beat a hundred stock photos every time.
The painting year, and what the site does in each part.
May to October: exterior season
Every homeowner with a peeling deck or faded siding calls in the same stretch of good weather. The site and the missed-call text-back matter most right here, because a slow reply in June has nowhere to hide behind a quiet season.
November to April: interior season
Cabinet refinishing, trim, whole rooms. The slower months are when reviews from summer exterior jobs pay off, since a homeowner picking an interior painter checks recent work either way.
Pre-1978 homes: lead-safe work
Most of Waukesha County's housing stock predates the 1978 federal ban on residential lead paint. EPA's RRP rule requires certified firms and trained crews on any of that work, and the site says so plainly instead of making a homeowner ask.

Published, fixed, and the same for a one-truck painting contractor as for a ten-truck one. For context, what a painting website usually costs:
A national home-services marketing agency. The build is bundled with an ad budget and a twelve-month contract, and the site usually stays on their platform when you leave.
A local web shop, one time, with hosting and any changes quoted after. Profile, listings, and tracking usually not included.
Run, mine. The painting site built against the checklist above, your Google Business Profile done properly, the listings that matter, forms that email you the moment a lead lands, and a lead inbox. Missed-call text-back, review requests, and the monthly agent work are on Grow at $297. You own the domain and the site, built during the trial.

Questions painting contractors actually ask.
How much does a painting contractor website cost?
Painting and home-service marketing agencies charge $2,000 to $7,000 to build and $400 to $1,800 a month after. Local web shops quote $1,500 to $4,500 one time. Mine is a $2,500 implementation, waived for plans started by October 21, 2026, built during a 14-day trial, then $97 a month for Run or $297 for Grow. Published, itemized.
What pages does a painting website need?
Home, interior painting, exterior painting, cabinet refinishing if you do it, deck and fence staining, commercial repaints if you do it, a photo gallery, a page per service-area town, reviews, about, and contact. Usually 10 to 18 pages.
Should a painting website show prices?
Ranges, yes: a typical interior room, a whole-house exterior, a cabinet refinish. Painting is a comparison-shopped service and a homeowner who can't find any number online will get one from your competitor's site instead.
How important are before-and-after photos for a painting site?
About as important as anything on the page. Painting is a visual trade and the homeowner is trying to picture her own house. A dozen real, captioned photos of finished rooms and exteriors does more selling than any amount of copy.
Does a painting company need separate pages for cabinet refinishing?
If it's real revenue, yes. "Cabinet refinishing" and "kitchen cabinet painting" are searched on their own, by a homeowner who isn't necessarily thinking about you for a full repaint, and a dedicated page catches that search.
How fast does a painting website need to load?
Under a second to first content on a phone. The live sites on this page run 0.8 to 1.6 seconds; most painting sites I audit run 4 to 7 because of oversized gallery images that were never compressed.
Can you show real painting website examples?
The examples block on this page pulls from the gallery. Every design is a full working site you can open and click through, not a mockup.
How is this different from the painting page on your subdomain?
That page is the offer: the scenario, the automations, the plan, the trial. This page is what a painting site needs and why, with live examples, for someone still comparing. Same build, same price.
